Ruby Y Rafa

On 12.01.13, we got engaged at Maggiano’s Little Italy restaurant at the Grove in LA. After dinner and before dessert, Ruby got up to go to… “The Ladies Room…” I (Rafa), had the engagement ring burning a hole in my pocket. I decided to call our waiter over and very briefly inform him of my plot. He agreed, left to go get our dessert, Ruby returned, the waiter returned with our cake and a bottle of champagne. Ruby’s birthday was a couple days away so the waiter didn’t ruin the surprise. I kindly asked the waiter to take a picture of us, first, in honor of Ruby’s birthday. I then asked if he (the waiter) wouldn’t mind taking a few more pics, because I had something “important” I wanted to share… The following is a step-by-step recap of thee now infamous “Emotions of Ruby,” when I proposed….

Step 1: “OMG, What are you doing…”

Step 2: “Please don’t do what it is I think your about to do”

Step 3: “OMG, THIS IS NOT HAPPENING”

Step 4: “OMG, THIS IS HAPPENING”

Step 5: “Why are there tears running down my cheeks?”

Step 6: “I don’t know why, but I think I just said ‘YES’!”

Step 7: “I don’t know what’s happening right now”

Step 8: “Why is everyone clapping?”

Step 9: “Let me see how it looks on my hand, first”

Step 10: “Will everyone PLEASE stop clapping!”

Step 11: “What did I just commit to?”

Step 12: “I’m happy + emotional + unable to breathe”
